Intermitent power trim 88 force 125 baylner

Power trim has always worked since I've owned the boat past 4 years.Except that it would not maintain position and I'd have to re adjust every couple minutes. Recently sometimes it will work sometimes it wont. Sometimes it will work if I tap the well/resevoir several times with a wrench.

Also had problems with stalling out recently when engaging either forward or reverse

if the reservior is not leaking, your valve body probably needs to be rebuilt.

Is valve body the part that sits underneath the pump? Wonder how big a deal / expensive to perform?
