I'm working on friend's boat and it has a flakey main connector. I've exercised it many times and it's still not reliable. It looks clean and not corroded at all. Is there a way to tighten it up?

Had the same issue and finally decided to cut and solder the wires together. Not pretty but it worked.

On the engine side you can remove the connector and get something under the female connectors and try to close them in tighter. Other then that and some dielectric grease that's about it. Other then that you can pick up a custom engine harness plug and replace the connector.
