At times the motor will not tach over 3000 rpm. Then suddenly it will run fine . Changed the stater and cleaned the carbs ,replaced fuel line, noticed the trigger has some cracks, it test fine , but other than the switch box I have tried all I know

The trigger leads, under the shrink wrap the wire breaks and doesn't make contact.
Tug on each lead and see if it comes out of the shrink wrap.

ronreed, I too had a problem similar to this and what Jerry Jerry says is on the money. I learned it too late as I foolishly bought a pack before realizing I had some broken trigger leads that would make contact intermittently (bad troubleshooting on my part). They are under that shrink wrap just like he said. If you are in doubt about a connection, don't second guess it, get a new terminal and re-crimp/solder, it's cheap and the only way to me sure you are getting a full connection all the time....believe it!
