I currently own a 1995 Mercury 75 Model 1-0754125D, Serial # 06316290

This motor was installed on a used Lund boat that I purchased almost two years ago. I can't be sure, but I think this motor has low hours and it certainly looks that way. I get out with it maybe 7-10 times each season, then it's stored for winter. The motor has performed excellent since I've owned it. Yesterday, I went fishing for about 4 hours. I ran the motor through about all phases of operation and again, it performed perfectly. I went to the dock to get the trailer, backed in and when I went to start the boat to load it onto the trailer, it wouldn't start after repeated attempts. I finally gave up and ran the boat onto the trailer using the smaller "kicker" outboard. Once on the trailer, I decided to try the Mercury motor again and it started. I let it run a short time, then shut down. I attempted to start it again and it wouldn't start. Once I got home, I put the muffs/hose on the motor and attempted to start it and it started right up. I shut it down after about 30 seconds, tried it again and it again started right up, this time I let it run maybe two or three minutes, then shut it off. I then attempted to start it again and it wouldn't start. I left it alone for about 20 minutes and tried to start it again and it started immediately. It appears to me that when it has warmed up much at all, it won't start, but can't be sure at this point, it may be just an intermittent starting problem, not related to engine temp. What's up with this? I did a search and found a couple of similar posts, but really no answers. Does anyone have any ideas? If so I would appreciate your response. Maybe it's time to take it to a reputable shop and let them try to figure it out. I would like to try some things first myself it possible and if anyone can help. Thanks in advance for any information.
