Internet ?

My daughter has a PC on dial up and was wanting to know if there was anything she could set to be able to answer any phone calls that comes in?<br /><br />You know, like kick her offline when one comes in?<br /><br />Any help?<br />Thanks.

Radio Shack has a unit that will allow her to answer a call and talk for about 30 seconds (long enough to decide if she wants to take the call or stay on line and call them back later). I believe you need call waiting to use it, but it is something for her to look at.

Saw a "Catch a Call" unit at Kmart last week, think they are about $30.

Gotta have call waiting for these devices.<br /><br /><br />Years ago, it was simple, if a call came through, the call waiting beep would be enough to screw up the modem sync and it would drop and your phone would ring, all this would take about 4 rings on the other end to happen.<br /><br />Now, with such good error correction, that same beep might take 20 rings to finally get your modem to just give up and terminate the call.
