I am new to the forum and wanted to say hello. I have been lurking for a week or 2 and looks like a nice forum. My current boat is a 1975 Glastron V-158 Beau Jack with a thunder 500 mercury 50hp outboard. It has been a good boat but I am thinking about replacing it this spring.
I am going tomorrow to look at a 2000 Scout 175 sport fish. It has a Honda 90hp 4 stroke on it and a bimini top. What I got from the dealer is the compression is 170 psi on each cylinder. They did not detect any water in the lower unit. Water flow was good but they could not tell me when the last time the impeller was changed. There is not an hours meter on the boat so the hours on the engine are not known. From the pictures, it looks like the boat is in nice shape. The boat was originally sold by the dealer and they accepted it as a trade in on a larger scout this spring.
What I will be using it for it is fishing on the local lakes here in WNC and maybe take it down to Edisto Island SC once a year for some fishing.
I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on the boat and what they thought would be a fair price for it.
