Can anyone tell me what the differances..."if any" between the two series? They appear to be identical..............Intruder series & Spitefire. Just curious.

One's a Johnson and the others an Evinrude.

Well, Ill agree that they are both an OMC product but they both have Evinrude on the side. I was just curious if there were any differances in there performance. From what I have seen they both appear the same...........and in the repair manuals there dosnt seem to be any changes in the two. Just curious.

Sorry, was thinking of the Johnson Silver Series. Intruder is the 60 degree motor. The Spitfire denotes some styling changes and some slight performance enhancements.

Didnt 2nd Effort tweak some 200's and 225's a bit and call them spitfires? I believe these were just a little hotter than the stock....the intruder series were the Bass Motors that were 150 and 175 horse,

Re: Intruder & Spitfire?

I appreciate the input of this guys. On the 2 lakes I fish the most....."Barkley & Kentucky".....I see many Intruder Evinrudes but not many Spitefires. Im going to knock on wood after typing this but my little 150 runs great and holds its own with many 175s and a few 200s. There have been times that Ive thought about trying to get a little more out of it..............but for now Ive opted to just maintain it as best I can and hope it keeps on running strong. I get lots of help by reading the forums...............thanks to all!
