Curious as to if anyone here has any suggestions.

Looking for an invetory program to Track about 30,000 item inventory. We ship to about 25 internal locations, need to be able to add notes to each line item shipped, and then print weekly reports.

Networkable would be nice.

Looking for a program where no inventory #'s can be changed without some type of note being entereted into the system.

Budget is whatever it takes to get something really good.

Have somebody design you an access data base. If they are good at it, you can design the data base to do everything you want. A company I used to work for brought in a guy to design a data base for me, him and I talked several times, he made a couple of versions and we tweaked one just the way I wanted it. If I remember correctly, it cost a couple of thousand, but did exactly what I wanted.

Re: Inventory Program?

vipzach..... I'd love to.

I had a guy all lined up that is a god at this stuff,I've seen his work and he could customize it EXACTLY as I need it.

BUT, I work for a corporation with idiots. They don't want an outside person to write the software, and then have to be supported in house. I say, what's the difference if we have a in house programer, they design something, and then QUIT. But they don't listen. And he was going to do it for $1k, a STEAL for what it could have done for us.

So basically need an off the shelf software becuase of the corporate BS.

Peach Tree at one time had some good software for inventory control.

A customized program is the way to go as long as it is well documented and is written in a modular form. That way you or someone else can make changes as the business needs change.

In the us large business do a bad job of documenting programs and then turn a round and spend millions to maintain them.

Sometime you can find college students to write programs as part of their academic studies.

I'm pretty sure that Microsoft's Access application comes with a database similar to what you're looking-for. Don't know about features, but I do remember seeing it there.

I'm in the Materials Management arm of healthcare, so I've got a lot of experience with apps for this type of business, but I think it's a lot more than you need. I've sent you a message via the link on your site.
