Iowa Homemade Boats

We recently acquired an old boat (circa 1959) that was apparently made by 'Iowa Homemade Boats' (HIN IAZ) but I've been unable to locate any information on this company. I was wondering if anyone had ever heard of them or knew where I might be able to find some information about them. I'm just curious to see how much information I can learn about this boat. Thanks.

Hmmm.....my buddy Dave & I built a john boat from one of his dad's old loafing sheds. Used roofing tar to caulk it. That was when we were in high school, and the year's about right. Spose some scoundrel hied it off to Iowa and sold it as factory-made?

the letter ' Z ' stands for homemade..<br />no manufactor made it.. so it really must be 'homemade'.. maybe a guy startin' up & had plans on growin' big.. but only built one or a few, only...
