Is 4 month old gas to old to run in a new 4 stroke?

My buddy’s outboard blew up 4 months ago and he just had a new 4 stroke outboard put on. Is the gas in his tank to old to use? It was empty and refueled the day it blew so it's exactly 4 months and 2 days old. It’s not mixed it straight fuel. Would you run it or drain? If he drains it my old international scout would love to drink it the extra 120 gallons <br /><br />Thanks a bunch

If it has been in an air tight container I would use it. If you are going to use it in an auto I wouldn't be afraid to use it.

The fuel tank it was in was sealed. <br />Thanks for the input.
