I am thinking about purchasing a Crownline 21ss with a 4.3L 190hp boat. For the most part there will only be 2 adults and 2 kids tubing and wakeboarding in the boat. Does anyone think that the boat will get up out of the water and plane out quick enough for what I want to use it for? Occasionally I will have 4 adults and 4 kids in the boat. Will the V6 be good enough for wakeboarding and skiing or do I need to step up to a V8 or possibly just change out the prop? All the kids are young now (6-10 yrs old) so I was wondering if this boat would have enough power to pull 8 of us around for a few years until the kids get older. We've been using a 19' VIP with 170hp and have had no problems just want to get a bigger boat for more room. Thanks for the input.

Unless you prop it for top speed it will do just fine, especially for wakeboarding and tubing.

My only concern would be slalom -- it'll take a good and/or light skier to come up w/o a fight. WB won't be a problem at all.
Tube with much weight on it will probably be pretty slow up to speed, but once you're there it'll be fine.

It all depends on your prop .... I would stay with the V6 ... with the fuel prices these days ....

The right prop will help out a ton. There are a bunch of options out there - 3 blade, 4 blade, 5 blade, and bunch of different pitches and blade cup's. I've had V-6's in the past and just prefer V-8's now. I'm running a V-8 inboard and burn 4 GPH. My last I/O with a V-8 burned the same 4 GPH. Both were fuel injected. I wouldn't have wanted a V-6 in either of them - especially when you get more people in your boat. I hate slow hole shots out of the water.
