I have a 1973 Mercury 85 hp with no trim & tilt. I have not been able to find a trim and tilt set up for this motor, but I did find a 1977 Mercury 70 hp with a bad cylinder with a complete trim and tilt set up that works. My question is will it work on my 73 85 hp? Are there any other interchangeable parts between these two motors?

Well, Neither of those motors showed PTT as available new. However, both motors use the same transom bracket shocks. I would therefore think that the PTT would swap between them. The PTT unit would be two PTT cylinders, two PTT brackets and a PTT pump/reservoir unit that mounted in the boat, and 4 hydraulic hoses. Is that what you are seeing?

Thanks for your response. That is what I am seeing. Just by looking at the two if them, looks like everything with work in my 73 85 hp. Just wanted to make sure before I go tearing into to it.
