Hi,

I found an interesting boat in Palmetto. I can?t come over so fast, since I live in Germany. Could somebody from the board look at the boat for me and tell me what condition it is? Of course I would pay for it.

I am in Valrico, about 1/2 hour north of there and go through whenever I visit the mother in law. I am heading to NY for a week tomorrow and will return on April 15. If you can wait until then, I will be more than happy to check it out for you.

Yeah, actually I am serious. I definately will look for a professional surveyor before I send any money or buy the plane tickets. I thought though, that the boat might be in a bad condition, so the idea was to ask somebody to have a first look at the boat and make the second step if, and after the first impression was positive.

Btw. Can anybody recomend a competent surveyor for a 32 ft motorboat in Palmetto? Or alternatively a listing of surveyors in the US on the Internet?

I'm the guy in Sarasota, but don't consider myself qualified on that type of boat. I'm an old outboard guy.

it?s great, that you?re writing.

The thing is that, as mentioned before, I don?t need a highly qualified person to determine if the offer is generally interesting or not. The first step is just to find somebody close to the boat, who doesn?t actually sell it to me. You know that the seller probabbly will tell me what I want to hear. So if you could look at the boat and tell me what impression you had, that would be very helpful. If your impression is OK I would call a professional surveyor and ask him to do a full inspection. But if you see, that the boat looks bad, smells bad, or whatever, I would skip it and go on looking for another offer.

I looked it up on google.maps and saw, that its 14 miles away. Can you tell me if you could look at the boat, if yes, when you could see it and how much would you like as compensation.
