I hate election time. I get tired of the mudslinging followed by the obligitory " My name is _________ and I approve this message".

It seems as if the clear winners here the media owners.

Seems like there are 6-8 minutes of them in a row.

I just wish there could be this much effort to keep the public informed after the election.

They are really very informative.
Would you vote for a gossiper and a mud slinger?
The way he tries to gain your confidence is the same way he will act behind your back after he has been elected.

But rolmops, if you take out the gossipers and mud slingers and there is no one left to vote for.

I hate the half truths and inuendo from ALL the politicians. Don't tell me about the other guy, tell me about yourself!

On the other hand there is very little stuff on TV worth watching in the first place. But at election time it go South very fast.

I just keep hoping, naively enough, I suppose, that at some point in time. that these negative, often misleading if not downright untruthful ads quit working.

I can't believe people actually believe them, or base their voting decisions on the info provided in them, but they would not be used if they didn't work.

And yes, both sides do it, and the loser is the American voter.

The Corker vs Ford adds here are starting to make my head hurt. Be glad when this is over.

During election time all the commercials are politicians. All the rest of the time there are 3 car commercials in a row.

I can just about guarentee you that if the voting percentages were 8 in 10 instead of 2 in 10 the mudslinging would stop.

As it is now, the commercials are intended to solidify and seperate those that will vote.

These dirty adds will work now and 10 years from now.
It is not so much what these politicians say.It is the facial expression and the very carefully chosen back ground which is usually very carefully doctored.Sublime visual messages of fear are interwoven with names and faces.
There was one, a few years ago, that had a woman's face on it.Upon very close scrutiny it turned out that the woman's eye had a bare breast in it.There was a razor blade sticking in the half cut and bleeding nipple. It was far too small to be seen in any normal way,but people actually do register it and the fear factor is greatly enhanced.
In this way fear and a name are planted in the subconscious.
The results have always proven to be far reaching.

Yep, if they were more informative instead of acting like 2 year olds things would be different. What happened to slander laws? oh, I forgot,,,,they are right beside the immigration laws.

It is the phone calls here, they will drive you nuts. Recordings and actual people to yell at. I told one that there was no way I would vote for him, because they called three times a day.

I find them entertaining!
There is a congressman here that has been in one term, cites his challengers lack of experience.........
Hopefully he will get the boot, he has been at the public trough far to long.......JK
