Hi All,

As you may or may not know, I have been looking for a boat. I will be using it for general family fun, cruising, fishing and water sports. Mainly fresh water but also some light saltwater use.

I came upon a 1999 Seaswirl 2100DC (Picture1, Picture 2, Picture 3). It's 20' with a 1999 150HP Johnson Ocean Pro. The boat looks really clean and comes with a trailer. Here are some additional details...

Includes Anchor, Bimini Top, Bilge Pump, Cockpit Cover, Compass, Depthfinder, Fishfinder, Full Canvas, Full Gauges, GPS, Live Baitwell, Radar Arch, Swim Platform, Two Batteries, VHF Radio, Original Owner, Stored Indoors.

It's priced (including equipment) at about what NADA says it's worth ($17000). I priced (without negotiations) the 2004, 2101DC at the Atlantic City Boat Show with a 150HP Yamaha Saltwater Series for about $29000 with canvas and no additional electronics (not sure if that price included trailer). My only concern is that a 150HP OB on a 20', 2800lb boat with passengers and gear may be a bit underpowered? My average load would be 3 to 4 adults. Family cruises would include 2 adults and 4 children. So What do you think? Good deal?

Sorry, I can't comment on your power question.

But I think its really neat that the purchase includes the "original owner". :)

It does sound like a nice rig, and not a bad price.

I think he means the original owner was stored indoors...

Try posting this on thehulltruth.com. They are a fishing boat orientated site and have lots of cc boats.

A 150 should work just fine with the load you are planning.

I don't pay much attention to NADA for pricing. What is it worth in your locality?

Thanks 3boyzz. That's not a bad idea.

SoLittle: There are not many used Dual Consoles in my area. When Dual Consoles come up for sale, they go pretty quick. As far as the one mentioned in my post, it's priced a tad high but it's not outrageous.

Ratfish,
It's a gorgeous boat and the price seems good for all you get. I would think the VALUE comes from the dealer?/seller and their reputation for service or your gut feeling about how well everything was cared for. Good luck and let us know.

Well, I lost another one. I could not get out to close the deal until tomorrow. A guy looked at the boat today and bought it. The search continues...

I wouldn't cry a river over that one. The Seaswirl DC model I saw had jump seats at the transom that were pretty sad. Gave the impression at least of a really cheap boat.

Kelly
