I'm helping a friend and have no clue if water is supposed to come out of the holes pictured (when hooked up to muffs). Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
Re: Is it normal for water to come from these holes?
normal. it comes out when in the water too you just don't see it. the cooling water comes out with the exhaust and out the prop and those relief holes.
Re: Is it normal for water to come from these holes?
These holes are there to let the water drain out form the lower unit, once it is out of the water, therefore preventing standing water from freezing and breaking your lower unit. Always make sure that these are clear of any obstruction and they drain freely.
Re: Is it normal for water to come from these holes?
It is also suggested in the "owners manual" to cover the vent holes under the cav plate with tape or other to ensure the proper function of the water pump while on muffs.
I do not do that because I always fear to would forget to uncover them.
