Is it possible to change (backdate) cowlings?

I have a '74 rude 115 and was wondering if it's possible to change the cowling to an older style unit?

Reason for such a wacky question is that I'd like the engine to look more "period" for the boat it's going on (1960 Bell Boy). Thanks!
-ANT

I once saw someone graft an old "Fat-Fifty" cowling to the base of a later V4 cowling to achieve the exact result you're looking for. It ended up being a bit of a sleeper as the 115 motor had a 50 hood. It'll take some glass-work to do it right. It all depends on how much work you want to put into it...
- Scott

Thanks Scott.....was thinking more along the lines of a straight bolt on deal--if that's at all possible.

Am expecting that you'd have to change the base of the cowl (top of the leg, where the powerhead bolts to). Ignoring the expense and difficulty in finding an older cowl, is this feasible without resorting to "body work"? Thanks again.
-ANT
