My steering collumn cover on my boat is chromed potmetal.
There is slight pitting on the underneath and I am thinking of filing it off and taking it in to be polished.
Is it possible to polish these potmetal areas or am I wasting time and $$.
Better yet, is there a way to clear coat that area to prevent corrosion without discoloring the metal?
