If your talkin' about just a powerhead swap then shaft lenght won't come inta play. If it is a "bridgeport" mid it will bolt right up. There might, and I say might cause I don't remember for sure, be a difference in tha exhaust port on tha 175 block and BP adapter. If there is you can use tha more expensive metal reinforced gasket for tha larger holes. It will work ok. Now ya need ta figure out if it was a BP powerhead cause they only came as a 220 carb and 240 efi crankcase injected motor. They're a few variations to that but not very common.......Tha BP powerhead will also be an "unpainted" block and heads.........

the block is black but the head unit on this one was a drag head unit has sticker on side that says before service contact mercury racing and give a number but the cowl says bridgeport tuned is there anyway to find out what size it actually was.the motor is on a skeeter bass boat with a hotfoot and the boat would go way to fast like 85+ and i looked up bridgeport 175 and it gets results on google so i didnt know if they were compatible

Don't know what ya "googled" but they only came in what I said other than a few different ones that came off tha "truck" at tha race track. Now there is a in-line 6 BP from tha very eary years but we both know thats not tha case here. Unless someone was a real dummy ALL Hi Performance blocks are unpainted. I don't think they even allowed paint in tha hi perf. division shop back then.......Stickers are just that, stickers! Makes no difference if its blown up any way.

If in fact it was high performance you will need to change tha exhaust adapter plate. This tha part I didn't think of before. Tha hi perf. will be a one piece adapter that will not work on tha stock PH. You would need to do some extensive coolin' mods for it to work. Will be a lot happier with tha right adapter from tha stock 175 and no modifications necessary. Check tha BP leg for a one piece adapter. If its already been changed to a two piece your home free.........
