Seriously. I hope you got something accomplished in the four seconds you saved by shoving your cart into my car instead of the nearby corral. Maybe Im crazy but If I see an errant cart on the lot on my way into a store I will make an effort to bring it back with me, and I always put mine away. Any other folks out there make it a point to corect the thoughtlessness of others?

it's out of hand around here. I had a buddy that was at costco and as he was coming out some little kid shoved a cart up against his car, after his mom yelled at him to put it back he left it behind my buddies car.

I also have an issue with stores that pick up the carts maybe 2x a day.

Yep, I'm also one of those that will grab a cart or three on my way into the store. And I always return my cart to the corral. Am I a good guy or a moron?

You're a good guy. I'd like to believe that we are the common type, yet I cant help but think we are a pretty rare breed.

Yup. Almost all of we anal retentives do that. Just can't stand disorder and become mildly homicidal if someone bashes my car.

Brookshires in Miserable Wells wouldn't let customers take the carts out the door. Only Baggers could do that, and they returned them inside. Their inventory of carts was greatly reduced. . .saved enough to pay the baggers.

Read about a store that "rents" the carts. You gotta pay a buck to have one to shop with and you get your buck back only when you return it safely to the cart cop. Seems to me it would be even better to charge $2 deposit and refund $1 when returned. Think about the horde of young enterpreneurs there would be haunting the parking lot, waiting to return lazy shopper's carts.

Seems like an opportunity to create some jobs. :)

aldi does the rental thing, I don't know how much it is.

I remember the days that the baggers brought your groceries out to your car in the cart and returned with them, where the hell did that go?

The same place that Full Service gas stations went.

I tell younger people about full service gas stations and they look at me like I have two heads. Unless they are from Oregon.
