Is my project feasible?

Hello fellow boaters!

I purchased a boat for a center console project, and I was looking for a boat in need of some repair, but not completely out of my league. A welded aluminum boat seemed like a good bet since I have the ability to both weld, and (solid) rivet aluminum, and so I purchased a boat that was advertised as having a slow leak. Upon inspection, it had a couple silicone patches on the underside, but I figured it could still be within the realm of possibility, so the boat I own is a 1989 crestliner V175 phantom. As I've stripped it, I've found a number of other issues that I would really appreciate some opinions on.

There is this separation that runs lengthwise along the boat (stringer?) https://imgur.com/bfOCIha

All of the cracks in the boat are in places where it had previously been "repaired". From what I've read about boat repair is that improper re-welding can cause the metal to lose it's temper and become brittle, so my initial thought was to install rivet patches and gluvit as a repair. I have the skills to properly set solid aircraft rivets, but now after stripping so much away and seeing the extent of the damage, it would be great to get a few opinions on whether or not this is worth it.

If it is worth it, I'll make sure to contribute to the forum with some daily progress on the boat, if not, then I guess I'll have to start browsing for a new project with what I learned on this one. I got my first boat last year (an inflatable), and that didn't fill the need for the itch I got, so I'm really hoping I can get this onto the water this year.

Thanks for any help or opinions you can provide, and please, be honest!
