I have several cans of Quicksilver Formula 50-D, Service TC-W, 2-cycle oil that dates back to the early 1990's, the last time I used my boat. The motor is a 1982, 30 HP Mariner and the oil is the mfg. spec. for that motor (or, was in 1982).

Is that oil still usable with today's 10% ethanol containing fuel? Any reason the oil would deteriorate with age?

If it dates back to the early 90s it should be TC-W3, MM. TC-W and TC-W2 are not quite up to TC-W3 specs. Double check the label.

It probably wouldn't do any harm to use it, it would have an indefinite shelf life, but if it isn't TC-W3 I think I would pass.
