I own a 1995 viper with a 200hp evinrude vindicator. I have tried three different props on this motor. A 25p renegade four blade, a 24 pitch ballistic three blade and a 26 pitch raker three blade. with all three props the motor turned 5400 rpm's. Is this normal or just a freak coincendence? I think something has to be wrong here. accourding to my gps the 24 pitch ballistic ran 62 mph at 5400 rpm and the 26 pitch raker ran 59 mph at 5400 rpm. Thanks in advance for any replies or suggestions.

I have the same motor as you and the recommended pitch is 19" up to maybe a 21". But, with a loaded boat and passengers you won't get going very fast with that prop. I actually have a 17 pitch on mine and with a full load i'm glad to have it! WOT on this motor is about 5750 which you can achieve without worrying on a 19 pitch.
