TWIN Volvo Penta 4.3 GXI - on a 2004 Regal Commodore

Power Steering starboard engine, controls both engines

Port engine has PS pump with fluid , acting as a pulley , Has hoses but guessing there looped together under block

Recently I was 50 miles from home port ICW , ,

Raw Water pump on starboard blew a seal spraying salt water all over top portion of engine , somehow damaged
air senor valve , causing engine too run full rpms ( not running that engine )

Limped back , 5 knots port engine , 9 hours , 30 footer no PS , not fun

SO MY QUESTION
IS there a option too some how loop both PS pumps working off the one actuator ?
Since I have PS pump on port install a valve opening what engine I want PS too work ?

I'm sure it could be done, but you may not be able to run them both at the same time. You might need to be able to disconnect one motor by using in line quick connects. Best of luck.

best way would be an electric power steering pump

if you plum both pump together, you have two pumps making heat and flow only one actuator to attempt to absorb it and oil will most likely return to the wrong reservoir and you will burn up one pump by starving it for oil.

you could look at 2 3-way valves and tie them together so you could switch between pump A or B. thats a lot of plumbing
