hello
sadly there is no automotive swap for the 3.0. there was one years ago for the 153 but that motor went out of production years ago. look about fo a used engine but be aware that odds are the manifold and riser is craked as well.
time to dissasemble everything to see what is salvagable.
good luck and keep posting
hello
we saw a lot of the 153cid engines as industrial and used in post office jeeps. in fact we used to get blocks and heads from a jeep graveyard in ft worth TX off 820 . but I have never seen the 3.0 in them. but the list of things I have not seen grows everyday. the 153 was a workhorse and smooth as silk. the 3.0 181cid. is a bit rougher. if you can find a complete 153/2.5 it will interchange as a unit. the block bores are different
some had different shaped ports on the head as well
good luclk and keep posting
Thanks, BMDODGE.

The first one is a 120HP MERCRUISER SERIAL # 2643147. I've asked seller for engine and block numbers. He thinks it's around 1969.

Are you thinking this would be same as my 1987 OMC 3.0? Where could I confirm?
not sue about the first one..
the second one should be just what your looking for... is your block junk ??? just wondering why you just want a block ?? just curious...
bruce
...maybe a rebuilt engine is the better way to go? Like right here on Iboats.

Alos, somebody must be reworking these engines. If you want a cheaper alternative, try finding it under engine rebuilders in the yellow pages or 411. You may be able to buy just a rebored block and new rings and any other minimum equipment.
