Outboard = 1990 Johnson GT150hp VRO V6

Looking at a used boat with this OutBoard. Problem, to keep engine running someone must keep squeezing the fuel bulb to pump fuel to engine. (Runs strong when you keep fuel in it.)

Going out on a limb and guessing its a fuel pump. Is that a big issue or expensive to replace/repair on this motor?

The fuel pump and oil injection pump are one complete assembly which includes the electronics for the oil injection alarms. They aren't cheap. But you could replace the VRO with a standard fuel pump, disconnect the oil alarms and premix fuel if that's something you can tolerate.

Around $400 for the part, it could be a negociating point too.

The PO changed my pump before I bought my 150, then decided he wanted an Etec, I wouldn't have spent that much for a pump but I'm glad he did, its a good system. Kinda nice to have as long as someone else buys.
