Is this a gearlube monitor?

Stepson's 1988 Merc - I don't see pics that look like this in the manual, but it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck therefore, I think it's a gearlube monitor. It makes me nervous that I don't see any lube in there. At the moment, I'm focused on other problems with that boat, but at some point, I'm going to want to establish that outdrive's status.

Thats for the trim tabs ,not the outdrive.Boat Levelor it looks like

Nope,... It's a Trim Tab hyd.pump,... Lenco I think....

PS: Merc did not use Gear lube monitors as standard untill 93 I think, maybe 92 and that was on the Alpha I Gen II outdrives only. Not your 88, which would be an Alpha One.
