Is This a Lifting Point for My 1982 Mariner?

Motor is 1982 30 HP Mariner, electric start. See attached. Center of photo - two rings that look like they would work for lifting the motor. The thicker one (aft - towards the spark plugs) is cast into the water jacket. Not sure about the forward one.

If I want to lift the motor can I use a hook through the aft ring (without destroying the motor)?

If it has a lifting lug,then yes.

I guess my question is, does one of the rings shown in the photo qualify as a lifting lug?
