I have a new to me Kenner boat with a 3 cyl Mercury 90. I believe its a 2003 year model. I have only taken it out a couple of times. I am going to go out this weekend so I decided to turn it on before hitting the water to avoid any surprises at the ramp. The boat was in my driveway with the muffs and The motor was tilted up because the transom saver was on. As I was squeezing the fuel bulb to get fuel in the carbs before starting, I notcied some fuel starting to come out and dripping to the floor. I had not seen this before when I had done it in the past. Did the fuel start coming out because of the position of the motor or do you think something is wrong. I lowered the motor to the upright position, I waited about 5 min and I cranked it and it started right up. I left it on for about 20 min and I did not notice any other problems. Once again is this normal or should I be worried.

Where was the fuel coming out of the motor itself or the fuel line? If it was coming out of the motor housing i would say you just pumped too much fuel into the carbs and they overflowed, and with the motor sitting in that position the carbs would have overflowed faster because of the foreward tilt. I don't think there are any problems with the motor.

Thank you so much for the reply. Yes, the fuel was coming out of the motor houseing. I kep turning it off and on for about an hour and encountered no problems starting.
