hey guys. im giving a goodlook over on my 87 yammie 50. i had to replace the intake manifold and why i was in there i got a light and looked at what i could see of the cylinder wall. i noticed on the number 1 cylinder..there is some light scratch marks at the very bottom almost like a cat got to it.. i checked the compression and they were 120..120..121.. so that means the cylinders and rings are in good shape right.. i was just trying to make for sure everything i see is ok..thx

120 is good butrun some ingine tuner through it and then see what it is. the light scratches are somthing else.what happened that caused you to change out your intake? <br />what did #1 cylinder eat? <br />borrow a bore scope and look in thru the spark plug hole to see the other side.

hello<br /> if you run a can of seafoam followed by a can of combustion chamber cleaner while running syntetic oil your motor will rebuild itself.<br /> your numbers look ok. is the motor having problems?<br /> good luck and keep posting

thx.. when i was rebuilding the carbs i noticed the intake had a small crack mark right beside the oil injection hole. as far as i know the engine is fine. i took the intake to a mechanic and he said it was a manufacturers flaw in the mold of the intake b/c u can see where the chip was actually sanded down. it was to late i had already ordered a new one.. what is this engine turner ..never heard of it.. rod was u joking about putting all them cleaners in engine or was u for real..thx for help

I was being kinda sarcastic. I see too much snake oil sold in this area. the worst is fuel dry. if you have water in your gas the only way to safely remove it in a 2 stroke is to physically clean it. by the time most tank additives start working ya smoked a piston a long time back.<br /> I just do the spray decarb when winterizing and let it ride.<br /> good luck and keep posting
