So my BABJ-1606083 Honda 9.9XL is starting and running when at it's early run is good just for less than a minute or so. Then it really starts dragging down and turning off. It can start again but just runs poorly. It's feeling like it's just running out of gas but I am pretty sure that the filter and gas pump is good. It easily sends gas though if I take the hose of the carburetor and just start it shortly (has an electric start and sends lots of gas through). Now overall it's been sort of a "funky" reliability, never really bad until now. It ran fine this spring and early summer but all of a sudden goes bad (I just ran in a local river to ensure it was good for bay & ocean fishing).
So I am pretty sure that it's close to 20 years old, I should replace all of the fuel system (filter, hoses, pump and carburetor) but I am wondering if there is something that might be easy to fix. I did replace the filter some time back, maybe 5 years ago. So is there something I can easily fix which maybe should be the filter? Does it actually look like it could be the filter?
Thanks,
Biederbeck
