Is this repairable for safe use on the lake?

My Daughter's boat had a large tree limb fall on it during a storm.
I am wondering if it can be repaired and be safe for the water.

My neighbor had the same thing happen to his 16' jon boat. Not nearly as severe as yours, but very close.

He used a variety of tools and whanged it back to general shape. Then, he cut the worst part of the upper rail out and welded in new. No leaks. It's all functional now, but "ain't pretty" at all. :LOL:

Here's a video of him with his repaired boat following me in my boat during my splash on 5-18-25. You can clearly see remnants of the damage.

Nope, not pretty. But, looks like it will catch fish.
