Hello All,

I'm looking to hook up a batt Isolator to my 86' 85hp Force but I'm not sure about the wiring. There's a wire comming off my rectifier that gets split at the terminal block. One wire goes to the starter solenoid and the other goes back into the harness towards the ignition switch. My thought are the wire that connects to the starter soleniod would serve as the source for my isolator. Any ideas ?

Re: Isolator installation

Wiring in an isolator is as easy as simply routing the postive lead coming from the rectifier and attaching it directly to the isolator's alternator connection. Just be certain that there ate no other circuits coming off the wire between the rectifier and the isolator. By wiring the rectifier directly to the isolator in this manner you don't bypass the circuit breaker that protects the engine's main electrical circuit.

Re: Isolator installation

Thanks for replying Matthew A,

Take the positive lead from the rectifer(disconect at terminal block) and connent it the source terminal on the isolator, Then connect the Batt 1 post back to the terminal block and Batt #2 post to 2nd Battery ?

My question is what would happen when the isolator switches the charge to Batt #2. Would'nt I lose power to the harness ?

Thanks
