It Runs!!!

I would like to thank everyone on this site that has shared knowledge about outboards and how to maintain them.

I recently purchased a boat with a 1987 15HP Evinrude, and with the information on this site and elsewhere I was able to rebuild the carb, and replace the water impeller.

It now starts on the first pull, and runs like a champ.

Now I have to monkey with the little slow speed adjustment.

as far as your slow speed needle goes: Seat it lightly and back it out 1 1/2 turns. That is a good reference point to work with and re-attach your neede adjusting knob at the half way position.

Thanks, I followed the link in the Top Secret Files, and got it set.

When I went to the dealer, he said that 1987 15 hp Evinrude was one of the better ones they made, but that there were 2 diff versions. How do I tell which one it is?

The model # is E15RCUD

Never heard of two versions before. Lets say that yours is the good one and leave it at that. Rick.
