...the 40 HP Evinrude Lark III I got on a boat from ebay came to life. I decided to pull apart the wireing harness at the control box...where the silly-noid and junk is...checked for spark and it had spark...so..I hooked up my jumper box direct to the starter...sprayed some starting fluid...and she hit...so , I am pretty confident the old girl will run...Thanks again to all who helped!!

A couple ideas.

First, very important , never use starting fluid again.

If you have to prime carbs, use premix in a spray bottle, no oil for lubrication otherwise.

Before you run it anymore.

Unless your sure its been properly maintained.

I'd suggest looking in FAQ's, at awakening a sleeping outboard.

yea..I hear ya...I thought about that after I did it...but..I din't crank it out to 5000 RPM...just turned it over enough to hear it hit....it didn't "run" persay...but...thanks for the info...I will have to dig up an old thread about the sleeping motor!
