Since I've posted.
I was discharged from the company I was working with last year. I took my time and found one that knows and understand that the federal regulations are there for a reason. They follow them and I have no concerns about being forced to work outside of those.
So, it was about 4 months before I returned to work. At the beginning of March, The engine was running worse than ever. I took it to a Pete dealer in Portland, ME and was told it had a broken crankshaft. This was confirmed by the CAT dealer in Marshall, MN. I think this could be why the thing never did run correctly.
I tried to get the bank to finance another that I found in CA and kept getting told no. I sold the truck I had leaving a rather large balance. I called this banks home office and explained the situation to him. [VP] He got the manager here to call me. I was told by this manager that he didn't want to approve another truck as I "wasn't getting anything out of it". I explained that I get a lot more than just money from having my own truck.
After a 10 minute conversation He said he'd look at it again. Since my hints didn't soak in, I told him they wouldn't see any more money unless I got the other truck.
Well, I did get the other truck and it ran very well in driving it from CA back home. I'm very hopful about this truck. I can tell by looking at it that it's been much better taken care of since new.
The good news is I had the time to replace the shift wire and some other things on the boat. lol
I should be back working next week sometime. I got the title back and am waiting on the return of a federal tax form. [2290 heavy highway vehicle use tax]
In looking, I prolly should have put this in "Dock Chat"
