Thanks for the help guys. If I hadn't measured the compression, I would swear that the engine is fine.<br />What should I be concerned with when removing the head besides snapping a seized bolt.<br />Is this something I should attack or should I have an OMC rep do it. I am somewhat capable of mechanical work on autos , machinery , etc. Just not familiar with this beast of an outboard<br />Thanks Again

Easy to remove head this engine. Cylinder bore should be smooth. Look at edge of piston by exhaust port for the edge of piston being burnt off.
