I got this hEAD BACK TOBETHER AND NOW I DONT HAVE ANY COMPRESSION/VACUUM to drive THE FUEL PUMP. I have good compression on #4 cyl. I guess I got gel seal in the passageway. I'm not sure exactly what route this passage takes. Any body ever done this and can i fix it without breaking crankcase back apart. If crankcase must be split i would prally put an electric pump on it. Any thoughts on that. Thanks in advance from a newbie thats feelin :mad:like an IDIOT!!!!

Can't help with your immediate problem, but I can mention that electric pump is a bad idea. If engine dies, pressurized fuel supply won't stop. If something (in the carbs) get stuck open, that could be bad news. At least that's what I've read numerous times in the forums.

Good luck with your other problem. If it was me, I'd just feel better knowing everything was done right.

Eric I thought about that to. I,m pretty good on the wiring end of things. I was gonna tie the tach signal to a relay to take care of that issue.

I used to be an auto mechanic that specialized in the electrical troubleshooting of aggravating crap. The automotive guys have been using electrcal pumps with kill switches that use a tach signal and a start signal to turn them on and off. I,m not to good at putting it into words but its not as complicated as it sounds.

Fuel pump is fairly new and had no issues prior to power head rebuild. Should i be able to feel the compression with my finger over the fuel pump drive orifice while engine is tuned over with plugs in it? FYI the quick connector at motor is new and the bulb pumps up tight. What am i missing hear?

Try blowing some compressed air in the pump drive orifice and see what happens.

Cool. I always take a ton of pictures before (and during) I pull anything apart. I even diagrammed my fuel lines out before doing my carbs.

Whats terrible is I took pictures and didnt look at them. Runs like a brand new motor with the fuel lines hooked up correctly. Thanks to all who helped with my questons during this learning expereince This is a great forum.
