Jack Plate Bob's Machine Pump

I have a Bob's "Flats Jac", that has the Hydraulic Ram installed, but the Pump and Switch Assy's are missing...Is there any reason a Mercruiser Trim Pump, that appears just the same, couldn't be modified for use with this Jack Plate...?
