Jack plate height ? need help

I have just purchased a new Nitro 882 and mounted the factory supplied jack plate and mounted my merc 150 xr6 with 23degree stainless prop.but the boat trys to stand up on end on take off no matter what trim setting and wont plane out. What would be the proper setting for this 7" jack plate?

The proper X dimension depends on the prop. The more technology built in, the higher you can mount it. <br /><br />Pitch is measured in inches, not degrees.<br /><br />Good luck!

i think that you are to low i to had the same problem, i moved the motor up a few inches and tried it again. then it was ok, then i fine tuned it. i also had to move some weight forward to compensate for the leverage of the engine .. good luck
