Jack Plate over outboard bracket?

Have an OMC Sea Drive. Could I replace and repower with a TH Marine Jack Plate with a 10" set back. Or should I just get a gil bracket tyoe outboard engine bracket with a farther set back? Engine to be put on is 90hp - 115hp. Please give me solutions.

We've done both. It really depends on the boat. Sometimes you end up with a jackplate on the bracket. Without knowing what boat you have its hard to say.<br /><br />Good luck!

What is your transom height if you remove the bracket?
