I jacked up my trailer, 2 wheels on each side, to take a wheel off. The skeg on my outdrive dug into the asphalt a little, I quickly realized what happened, so I jacked up the back and raised the unit fully. Did I seriously screw something up? Thx..

Nah. Try not to do it too often though.

I forgot to raise the motor all the way up after running in the driveway once, smacked it good pulling out of the driveway - luckily no damage at all. Seems unlikely you did any harm if there is nothing visible.

Does it look like the dorsal fin on an Orca whale that's been kept in captivity?

How come no one is worried about the dent in the asphalt?
Or did some paint from the skeg come off on the pavement.
It might need cleaning, sealing, or worst, complete overhaul.

That asphalt dent is a badge of honor, like a wound one can be proud of and brag about.

SO, I took the day off to deal with this. Failure. JB Blaster does nothing to remove the star adjuster, neither does heat. the entire drum cover is rusted on. Hitting it with a hammer does nothing. Does not budge. Been at it since 7am.

Question: On the back are four bolts. If I remove those, will it just come off? and I will buy a new one. Do I need to remove the bearing cover and bearings first?

Regarding the master cylinder and brake fluid resovoir, the plastic cap that should be on top of the actuator is gone. there is just a rusty hole where fluid should be- had no idea when I bought the boat and trailer.

THANKS...
