I plane to mount my engine on a hydraulic jackplate to increase boatspeed. I would prefer a 10" setback to get the most trim response and "cleanest" water for the prop.
But after reading a topic on this boatforum about a Verado stressing the transom because of its high center of gravity and ekstra backweight I got worried about if my transom can manage the ekstra pressure.

Does anyone have experinces about jackplates and overloaded transoms?

My boat is a 20 feet walkaround I am waiting for my new engine to be delivered in July a E-tec 225HO.
The boat is Galeon Galia 660WA produced in Poland in handlaid fiber. The transom is made for twin motor up till to 115 hp. each.

dont worry bouat whatever anybody said about the scrapado, er, i mean, verado.

jack plates are good things. you can use one, wven the 10" one and have no worries.

all its gonna do is make your boat faster, get more MPG and run flat out better.

if your boat is a new boat, dont worry

just put some type ofg aluminum plates inside thetrasnom so the engine mounting bolts have somethning to spread out the force, kinds like using large wahsers
