This board is great. I read alot and do not post much. But I have a problem with my jackplate. (boat is a 200 Merc EFI on a 21 ft bay boat)

The hydo jack plate quit working a while ago and lucking it was in a decent position. I left it alone for a year and now have the time to fool with it. It is a Detwiler plate with the old Exact Dial system for adjustment. It has a circuit board and all sort of wires. I believe after reading a bunch that the exact dial board and other related stuff is the root of the problem.

Question is can I just wire a simple toggle switch to the pump motor and operate it just like a tilt/trim? And if so can any of you give me a link to a wiring diagram and some parts.

Thanks -Dave

That is what I would do. How many wires come out of pump motor? You might have to play with it to figure out what wires do what. If it uses a lot of amps (for switch) you could use a solinoid.
