Sweeeettttt!!!!! That looks like fun... wait, I was there... it WAS fun! Lol. The Merc is a Quicksilver 340 Sport... converted to airdeck after about 4 trips and floor battling, yes I know... I am a wuss. :)

Also present was a bravo pump that "failed" due to user error. I failed to charge the battery...and failed to find the alligator clip extension until AFTER I pumped the boat up the old fashioned way.

BTW, if anyone is interested the command center is a tool box. Inside is a small marine amp (see white marine speakers on the sides), a 12v 18amp batt, storage space for the transducer which is a quick clamp mount to the transom. The satellite dish thingie is mounted on top along with the quick release gps mount and there is a speaker jack plug in one of the little compartments to plug an mp3 or Ipod to. This version (now Mk I has served me well for 5 years (until yesterday when I thing the battery gave up the ghost) Mk II should hopefully do better as the MkI is rusting out at the hinges!... can't think of everything, :rolleyes:lol.

Weimed,

Good to read that Quicksilver 340 air deck fitted well your 350 sib. Both have near same bow shape compared to Saturn bows, just top the air deck to factory working specs to archieve opt deck rigidity. Does the 340 air deck has a transversal wooden slat right after keel hole that pushes inflatable keel down ? BTW, who's at first & last pics, you or Sinistre ?

Happy Boating

Yes, there is a trapezoidal shaped marine plywood (asuming) board that mounts under the deck and wedges between the tube. The air deck holds this in place while the keel uses it for support.

hahaha!

I never thought it was going to lift off the water when I first saw it, I thought the "wings" kept it close to the water while the engine pushed it along. I was so surprised to see it fly, it turns out that they can go up to 10k ft!

yea after 10k air gets thin and you cant breath lol. I took a couple of flying lessons last year. if a small plane on a clear day I did not want to go over 6k on a rubber mattress I would stay at about 1-2k and if you do this make sure you get your recreational pilots license so you can learn how to land it when your engine fails. the guy flying it is a pilot. Bottom line is your mess up is not a 1 ft fall into the water going 10mph. its falling 500-100 ft. Sin remember that moron flying a kite saying how setting up the boat is work. Imagine the crap face he would have watching you take off in an air mattress blowing right by. oh man I can only imagine the look on those peoples faces that are cruising around in there 30k boats. All you have to do is land by them and say "don't you wish your boat could fly"

LMAO, Weimed, that would truly be worth the price of admission. Goes something like this... Hey guys, that's a lot of work for a little boat. Yeah, we know but it will be worth it. Sure, if you say so. I wouldn't do it, i'd rather spend my day flying this kite and talking about others who are taking a slightly more active approach to enjoyment (not that there is anything wrong with either approach... but don't throw stones.... ). 40 min, WTF!??? Did you guys see that.. his F'ing boat flew away!! Really, it did. Then he cut my kite string on the way up!!! Lol

BTW, Weimed,

Not looking good for this weekend. Checked the books. I still owe a number of OT hours for July. Will be working this afternoon and all day tomorrow (especially since I plan to take off next week and my Supervisor won't approve that if I am short on mandatory OT). :(

Gonna have to be the end of this week or early next week.

Video from last outing! We went touring the bay and did a little fishing. A few blues, sea robins and a short striper! No video of the fishing (sorry):( We were primarily testing out Weimed's new 6hp Mercury outboard. Works a treat!!!

Will hopefully get better at the videos but that is my cell phone i'm taking liberty with, lol.

There were quite a few inflatables out on the day. From 9.9 4 stroke powered 310's to what I imagine must have been a 25/30 14footer or better because he blew past me like I wasn't moving and i'm good for 20-22mph, one up with relatively flat seas (as was the case). He had to be doing 30ish or better.... one can dream :)
