I am rewiring/outfitting a 15'sport (1981) and it does not have the railing anymore. My problem is I have no easy place to mount rod holders. I went to the wood diagram from the whaler site you recommended in some past posts, but I want to know if you think screwing into 21 yr old 1/2" plywood backing will be sturdy enough for some often used trolling. Or should I thru bolt w/a plate. (I hate to do that 
) Condition wise- The boat seems very solid and in good shape for the age. Also, where could I store/mount my anchor if I use the bow locker for live well? your wisdom will be greatly appreciated ...
