JB.......Knipex???

JB, I believe you mentioned a Knipex cutter in one of your posts. Was this an 8" boltcutter?<br />I was thinking of giving one as a gift, and wanted your (or anyone else's) opinion. <br /><br />I was thinking this would make a great hook cutter, for both emergency and fish release use.<br />Is it handy enough to use "one handed"?<br /><br />I found them for $29. Good price?<br />I also found some cheaper ones, but I recognized the brand Knipex name.<br /><br />Anyone else have an opinion?

I don't think it was me, Roscoe, though I might have mentioned that a powerful one-hand cutter is something a musky fisherman or a salt water fisherman should have in the box.<br /><br />Cutting the hook or steel leader is sometimes the best way to release a strong fish that is well hooked. Ordinary dikes wont do the job.<br /><br />I think this should be in the Non-Boating Topics. I will move it there.<br /><br />Good luck.
