For you fans of JB weld, if you haven't tried JB's WaterWeld, well, you will be looking for a hole to fix when ya do. Really just Plumbers Putty, but JB (not THAT JB!) might have improved on it over the years. :D

And you base this on what? Plumbers have used it in one form or another for years, and as a Machinist, we have used it in MANY applications.

Re: JB Weld/WaterWeld

I just used it for the first time this past weekend. I was actually really impressed with the way it worked. Checked the spot after a few days in the water and had no dampness inside the hull around the repair. I hope it holds up, because it was very easy to apply and easy to sand down to match the contour of the boat. Guess a better idea would be to stop beaching the boat on rocks though  <br />Steve

Re: JB Weld/WaterWeld

i had an engine that wasn't winterized right, busted the water jacket way up high below the deck, I didnt want to change the block, it seemed like a sin the motor ran so good. i BOUGHT JB WATERWELD WIRE WHEELED THE DAMGaED AREA applied the jb waterweld which is a task when your hands are sticky from mixing. eventually i was able to mold it nicely over the crack. the motor runs like a champ and leaks no water. i keep it on the boat just incase. it takes an hour to dry and doesn't need to be clean or dry. awesome

None of the JBWeld products have been a waste of money for me. In fact I'd probably pay more for the "stick" ones if I had to. IMO...great product and simple to use. Has done the job for me numerous times.
