I know some here have worked on the Jeep/Dodge 5.2 liter engines a bit, I was just wondering, has anyone ever replaced the main bearings in one of these engines without pulling the motor? I did it once a long time ago, on and old dodge dart with a 318, and did not have to much difficulty, just wondering if it is possible in these newer cars?

Way back when, we were able to jack the motor up and pull the pan, replace the bearings and the oil pump pretty easy. But I figured I would ask about the newer cars.

Thanks

^+1. Be sure to change the oil pump and pickup screen while you're in there.
