OK Folks, some of ya know I'm a li'l bearish on dirt. Here is a famous world trotting investor's remarks. Mr. Rogers tends to make sensational statements from time to time. He tends to invest in commotities, currencies, and foriegn debt and equity instruments, and some domestic positions, (but they are always complex and hedged). He may see a move to exploit which most of us can't possibly follow. He moves very quickly and a big short to mid term scenario he has exploited may happen and be over before most of us get out of bed. Please do not take this as a recomendation in any way shape of form. It is nothing more then a savvy investor's perception, (he usually makes extreme statements). That said: this is a warning of potential things to come. Battening down the hatches a bit, and avoiding speculation and high risk max leverage moves in dirt might make a li'l sence ta at least ponder, just in case he is right, (which he is more then he isn't). Enjoy the scare piece. Please don't read this if you can't stand anyone who may have a different take on important things then you do. JR

Link don't werk for me, but few do (danged firewall)...
But as for dirt, even the kind hauled-away from local quarries has shot-up in price -- so much so, that the demand for clean, rock-free fill in the Naples Florida area has led to several high-profile fellony arrests of (you guessed it) thieves in dump trucks. Not to mention the future value of the hole left behind makes for what is known as "waterfront property" -- The kind that is affordable only to the most wealthy of touristas.

EDIT: hmm.... link werks now.. What did you do?

Yup, there has been some bad mortgage stuff going on.....
I must question why a 'Big Shot' like Mr.Rogers would offer up free financial advice......
Good thing he ain't Greenspan of the market would take it's first 1,000 point hit.....
I sure he has some motive, & I'd wager that it is not out of the kindness of his heart.......
There will be a correction....
& it's gonna hurt some people.....
The people who can afford to but the foreclosed houses, will.....
& the those who have lost them will be forced to rent them from the new age 'Paltroons'......
The rich get richer & the poor get poorer.....
This will be the legacy of the Du....'er.....Bush Era.....;)
On another note, it does make me all warm & fuzzy, that the credit card companies finally were able to push through the bankruptcy changes, thus insuring that their investments were risk free.....
But I digress........:)

Great Point me Bro! Mr. Rogers does regularly comment in Barrons, (for at least the last 30 years), n' CNBC, n' FNC, (sorry Willy). I agree to be skeptical of his motives. He is as sophisticated, n' wealthy as they get, and people, (real big money) do pay attention to him. I hope the move he predicts is not the "BIG ONE" where the demographics of the baby boom crush us, (which IS on the horizon, [at least I hope it is on the horizon and not now]), IMH uninformed O! JR ps I didn't like that BK deal either. I have ta stop agreein' with ya; it scares me!! :%
